TESTIMONIALS

Matt and I worked with Lorraine using the Imago method and it has made our relationship even stronger.  Lorraine created a very safe and warm environment where we learned to communicate and validate each other’s feelings without escalation into an argument. We also enjoyed the process of seeing where patterns from our childhood affected the way we each behaved in our marriage.   We learned some very effective communication skills through these sessions and we now try to use them at home by ourselves.  I highly recommend Imago to anyone who wants to take their relationship to a new level and Lorraine is wonderful to work with. (Matt & Lee, married with two children)

Through Lorraine's teaching, using Imago couples therapy, my husband Joe and I were able to work through various problems that I thought were unable to be repaired.  We had just married, I was 5 months pregnant and I found out that he had cheated on me.  He was drinking heavily, gambling, neglecting me, etc.  I played my role as well.  I was demanding, verbally abusive, violent, etc, and I kicked him out of our home almost daily.  We had no communication at that point, other than yelling at one another.  I thought we were heading for divorce and chaotic future with our new, beautiful and innocent son just being born.  I was beyond depressed with almost no hope left. During our therapy sessions Lorraine had us "mirror" each other.  It was very powerful to face one another, discuss deep emotional issues. Using a structured way of conversing helped Joe & I to actually listen to one another.  We realized our past experiences with our families were very similar & that we were repeating those same mistakes that we so hated when we were children. With Lorraine's guidance, we were able to work thorough our devastating issues.  Joe and I actually listen to one another now and are living the life that I have always dreamed about.  We worked through the issues and continue to work through them every day.  We set aside time or "make appointments" to speak to one another using mirroring.  I know now that anything is possible!  The tools Lorraine provided for us gave us a way to achieve a happy and stable marriage, and family.  We realized together we can heal the wounds we caused one another, as well as, the wounds our parents caused us.  I feel like we have been given a second chance at love...falling in love with one another all over again.  I am truly thankful to have met Lorraine and know that she was instrumental in helping our relationship heal and grow.

"I came to Lorraine in complete and utter crisis. In therapy with her I continue to learn not to blame anyone else for the way I feel and not to expect anyone to save me from myself anyway, searching instead for the strength within myself. I've learned the value of who I love and who loves me. Lorraine continues to teach me that taking responsibility for one's own life is not the lonely venture I once thought it was. I'm learning good and healthy boundaries, where I begin and others leave off, a vital lesson to my own happiness and to the happiness of those around me. My life has become positively miraculous. I am in high-spirits, now, more often than I am not. I am feeling full and truly creative with genuinely tender moments to wrap myself around, including the ones I spend alone, shaping new memories that gently blanket the old..."

Lorraine is an outstanding therapist who is a blessing to her family, friends and clients. As a friend and professional associate, I know how very dedicated Lorraine is to good counseling. Not only does she have exceptional academic credentials, she continuously seeks out new perspectives and teachings.
I first met Lorraine when I had the privilege of working with her at a community counseling agency. From the beginning, I was impressed with Lorraine for her compassion, quiet strength and wisdom. She inspired her clients and helped them resolve their problems. Many made profound changes in their lives and credited Lorraine for the helpful insights they gained in therapy with her.
Whether you are looking for a therapist for the first time or even if you have had prior counseling experiences, Lorraine is an expert at understanding individual needs and establishing plans to resolve problems. I think Lorraine is amazing and I would recommend her as a valuable resource for anyone looking to live a better life.

I first came to see Lorraine after my wife informed me that she was filing for a divorce after 12 years of marriage. I had also just found-out that she had been having an affair for the past 2 years. When I started counseling with Lorraine I was devastated and felt hopeless. I was embarrassed and thought my life was over. Not only was I loosing my wife, but I would have to get used to not being with my two young sons every day. Lorraine helped me to stop being so preoccupied with my wife and move on. I slowly began to improve from the depression and with Lorraine’s help, I began to learn about me and what made me tick. I had been so used to doing what I thought other people wanted that I was more miserable than I realized. I regained confidence in myself and even joined a gym, lost 20lbs and bought a Harley. It took a while to stop feeling guilty about doing what I wanted but I started having fun and doing the things that I really enjoyed. She also taught me some really useful parenting skills. Therapy changed my life, and even though I don’t have my boys every day, I spend a lot of time with them, teaching them things. I’m actually a better dad than I was before.
